Ginny K. Rainey Will Join Leadership Team and Serve as the Director of Business Development
R. F. Knox Company, Inc. recently announced that Virginia (Ginny) K. Rainey will join their leadership team and serve as the Director of Business Development. Ms. Rainey is the second family member of a fourth generation family business and will work closely with her brother and company President, John (Jack) A. Knox in her new capicity.
For more than 90 years the business has been lead by a father and son trio. The latest father/son management team was headed up by Fred W. Knox (father) and Jack Knox (son). This management style has been a way of life for R. F. Knox Company, Inc. since inception in 1914. Fred W. Knox offered over 40 years of service to the company and retired in April of 2007. Since that time Jack Knox has served as President. In early 2008 as Jack Knox realigned the company, he considered an approach that would deviate from historical management protocol, which included bringing his sister onboard. “To excel in our field you must be able to establish a strong relationship with the client and offer cutting edge products that are delivered on time and within budget. Timing, safety and quality mean everything and it makes perfect sense to introduce a new leadership team that supports our core mission. This new leadership alignment will allow us to continue to pursue the company’s interest, without losing sight of our roots.”
For over 9 years Ms. Rainey worked for a local Community Improvement District (CID) in the Cumberland Galleria area. She worked her way up from the bottom of the organization and ultimately directed the transportation management association, Commuter Club, which is managed by the CID. “Jack and I have each had the opportunity to grow independently within different professions. My transportation background allowed me to acquire phenomenal sales, marketing and project management experience. Jack is very sharp and has a keen sense of efficient operational practices. By combining our backgrounds, resources and knowledge I feel that we are perfectly suited to take the company to new levels. Sibling rivalry is a thing of the past for our family. We are ready to embrace the future.”
Jack Knox is entering his 14th year of service with R. F. Knox Company, Inc., which also happens to be the average tenure of employees within the office. “It has been a great honor to work with so many well skilled employees. Some have served over 40 years with us, although several have retired once they hit the 25 year mark. We are able to retain our quality employees because we are a team. When the times get tough we all ban together and when the times are good we celebrate. The employees make us who we are, and they are the reason we have accomplished what we have to date.”
Jack also worked his way up the company ladder prior to stepping into his role as president. “We are performance driven and I wanted to understand what each employee is going through as we tackle various projects. Having my hands in every level of our business has given me that prospective.”
